Longtime New Orleans trumpet and tuba player Tom Saunders is known for his 12-Piece big band, a jazz orchestra known as The TomCats, playing 1920s "hot dance" and 1930s swing of New Orleans and New York's Harlem. They perform a large repertoire with a focus on the rare, unheard "hot music" of this era, and tonight, Tom brings his smaller, mid-size band, Tom Saunders & The HotCats to the Snug stage for a special Satchmo Summerfest weekend closing night swing.
Tom Saunders & The HotCats tonight features: Tom Saunders - tuba Corinne Saunders - vocals Jack Pritchett - trumpet Tom Fischer - reeds Haruka Kikuchi - trombone Hunter Burgamy - banjo
