SNUG HARBOR'S ANNUAL KREWE DU VIEUX PARADE PARTY IS BACK!
Each year just a little over two weeks before Mardi Gras Day, one of New Orleans' most witty and raucous renegade parades, Krewe du Vieux, kicks off parade season right in our neighborhood. Rolling from the Marigny and through the French Quarter (Vieux Carré) into the Central Business District, Snug Harbor is nestled neatly in the middle of it all. This year, the KdV route passes by Frenchmen Street on the way to the Vieux Carré.
For Krewe du Vieux night, Snug Harbor removes the Music Room wall and opens up the place for one big three-hour party where the Carnival music & culture of New Orleans' Caribbean sister, Ayiti, merges with the first weekend of New Orleans' Mardi Gras parades and street style on one of the city's hippest streets...

Muevelo! featuring Margie Perez & Brent Rose +sg
live 10-piece Cuban & Latin salsa-jazz dance band for two sets
Sets at 9:00pm & 11:00pm
What started as a one-time performance in tribute to Cuban salsa queen legend Celia Cruz has now become New Orleans' newest Latin music sensation, Muevelo! That means "Move It" in Spanish, and that's just what you'll be doing with your feet, your hips and all the rest! Lead singer Margie Perez and saxophonist Brent Rose have put together a talented ensemble that takes you on a musical journey to Cuba that will not let you leave the dance floor.
Muevelo has since played The Congo Square Rhythms Festival, a Latin showcase at the Jazz and Heritage Center and is now a staple at many clubs in New Orleans.
