Multi-instrumentalist Rob Wagner lived in New Orleans for 15 years in the 1990s and early 2000s as a fixture at Frenchmen Street clubs performing in styles from funk to klezmer to modal/free jazz before moving to NYC after Hurricane Katrina. Wagner is a master player on tenor & soprano saxophones, as well as clarinet. With his sense of drama, using subtleties of pitch and dynamics to good ends, his tunes are attractively lyrical and open.
Tonight, he presents the Rob Wagner Trio, featuring: Rob Wagner - saxophones James Singleton - bass Johnny Vidacovich - drums
