Tenor saxophonist and composer Christian Winther has been based in New Orleans since 1997. He has established himself as a voice demanding attention on the jazz scene through his soulful sound and a style of composing that exudes an expressive melodious quality. Winther has toured the US and Europe as the leader of the Christian Winther Quartet and performed as a sideman with many New Orleans jazz groups. Winther’s latest recording “Refuge In Sound'' (2016 SPM) earned him critical acclaim from national and international jazz publications and features a set of all original compositions by the the leader and a cast including Allyn Johnson-piano, Reuben Rogers-bass, Mike Moreno-guitar and Billy Williams Jr.-drums. Some of the musicians Winther has performed and/or recorded with include: Ali Jackson, Vincent Gardner, Shannon Powell, Herlin Riley, Billy Drummond, Marcus Printup, Richard D. Johnson, Rodney Green, Reuben Rogers, and Mike Moreno.


Award-winning musician, composer, arranger, educator, and percussionist Ali Jackson developed his talent at an early age. A virtuoso, Ali has contributed significant musical works as a composer and arranger and he holds the distinction of being a percussionist  across an entire spectrum of musical styles. Ali has performed and recorded with a multitude of artists including Wynton Marsalis, Jon Batiste, Willie Nelson, Tony Bennett, Faith Hill, Karriem Riggins, Bobby McFerrin, Buster Williams, Norah Jones, Eric Clapton, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Aretha Franklin, George Benson, Harry Connick, Jr., KRS-1, Marcus Roberts, Joshua Redman, Vinx, Seito Kinen, Seiji Ozawa, Diana Krall, Gerald Albright, Michael Heise, Russell Gunn, James Morrison, Craig Handy, Jacky Terrasson, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and the New York City Ballet.

Kind Reminder:  Snug Harbor does NOT serve the full menu inside the Music Room. We do offer cheese and charcuterie tray options. In order to preserve the integrity, quiet and focus of our world class intimate concerts, only the charcuterie, cocktails and soft drinks are available for table service inside the Music Room. However, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 Minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the Dining Room right next door, before getting seated in the Music Room for your ticketed showtime.
