The Byron Asher/Tomas Majcherski Quartet is a new co-led formation, performing the two multi-reedists' compositions that explore the different instrumentations and timbres available to the group. They are joined by top young creative bassist Matt Booth (Extended Trio) and long-time New Orleans by way of Memphis drummer Doug Garrison (The Iguanas). Asher and Majcherski met in New Orleans in 2013 and formed a fast working relationship, performing together and subbing for each other in various projects around town. After a decade of friendship, they began working on this project in 2023 and will be recording their debut album as co-leaders in winter 2024.
