New Orleans native Leon Anderson Jr. is the Director of Jazz Studies at Florida State University faculty, where he has been an associate music professor since 1998. His musical experience includes that of a classical and jazz percussionist, educator, clinician, and composer. Mr. Anderson earned his music degrees at Louisiana Tech University and Southeastern Louisiana University. His mentors included Ellis Marsalis Jr, Willis Delony, and Victor Goines of New Orleans, as well as the late bassist Ben Tucker.
