Guitarist and songwriter Jay Griggs attended Southeastern Louisiana University where he received a degree in classical guitar. Shortly thereafter, in New Orleans he worked with Allen Toussaint, Pete Fountain, Luther Kent, Dr. John and many other of the city’s best musicians, and toured Europe with The Mamas & The Papas. After Hurricane Katrina, Griggs went to work for The Jazz Foundation of America, where he was booking, recording and playing with musicians put out of work by the storm. As a songwriter, producer and lover of the guitar, he is a dedicated musician who continues to grow and create.
