GRAYSON BROCKAMP & THE NEW ORLEANS WILDLIFE BAND

Thu June 16 @ 10:00 pm

Hailing from Greensboro, North Carolina, Grayson Brockamp has happily made a new home in New Orleans. After nearly 10 years, he has become one of the most sought after bassists in town. He began his solo project, The New Orleans Wildlife Band, with the goal of featuring the best young vocalists around. He has worked with several incredible singers and encourages all his bandmates to contribute their vocal talents. What has resulted is a unique blend of vocal harmonies, diverse rhythms, and fiery arrangements of classic songs.

Since their first gig in 2016, Grayson Brockamp and the New Orleans Wildlife Band have kept busy in the vibrant music community of New Orleans. The band developed their chemistry while maintaining a weekly residency for over two years at the Marigny Brasserie on Frenchmen Street, and subsequently performed at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in 2019 to rave reviews. They released their self-titled EP under Nicholas Payton‚Äôs label Paytone Records in 2017. A year later, they independently released their debut LP entitled A Dream or A Nightmare, also co-produced by Payton, later signing to Rope-A-Dope Records, which re-issued the album in 2020.

Heavily influenced by the Black American Music they grew up on, The Wildlife Band’s current selection of music is informed by the blues, gospel music, and rhythms from all over the world. The band features the vocal talents of all its members, which often involves intricate 4-part vocal harmonies. They seek to never play a song the same way twice, making every performance a new musical journey.
