ASTRAL PROJECT

January 29, 2022 @ 10:00 pm

*** UPDATE:  JANUARY 17th ***
Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the Astral Project bandleader will not be able to perform on January 29th, and must postpone all shows until a future date. We plan to re-schedule the much anticipated return of Astral Project to Snug Harbor in March or April, as soon as the full band is available. Please stay tuned and continue to check our social media and website here, or join our e-newsletter, for this announcement.

However, we hope that you will still join us on January 29th for a spectacular night of experimental music, as original Astral Project guitarist Steve Masakowski leads an all-star ensemble, featuring other members of Astral Project, for two fantastic sets. Click here for more details on the new January 29th show with Steve Masakowski & Friends.

All tickets purchased for the original Astral Project shows will automatically be honored and transferred to the Steve Masakowski & Friends shows, as an even exchange. If you do not wish to enjoy the Steve Masakowski & Friends show, and prefer to wait to purchase tickets for the re-scheduled Astral Project date later this spring, you can request a full ticket refund by Emailing your e-ticket confirmation to info@snugjazz.com with your name and contact info by Thursday, January 27th

Thank You for your understanding, and we’ll see you soon!

Astral Project
is a modern jazz quartet from New Orleans, Louisiana founded by saxophonist Tony Dagradi in 1978 and includes drummer Johnny Vidacovich, bassist James Singleton and 7-string guitarist Steve Masakowski. The band originally included pianist David Torkanowsky, who left in 2001.

For more than 40 years now, Astral Project has delighted audiences around the world with its unique brand of cutting edge improvisation and near telepathic interplay over deep New Orleans’ grooves. A devoted student of Eastern philosophy, Dagradi coined the band name as a reflection of the group’s quest for a higher plane of experience. As everyone who has seen the band in concert knows, each performance finds these men reaching for the stars.
Rolling Stone Magazine describes Astral Project as “ECM-style grace with New Orleans humidity.”
